Rotorua Youth Consultation Steering Group (1999) Te Puna Rangatahi (Young Spring) - the Rotorua Youth Consultation, commissioned by the Rotorua Youth Consultation Steering Group, reports published by Rotorua District Council, Rotorua, New Zealand.

Abstract

Te Puna Rangatahi (Young Spring) - the Rotorua Youth Consultation Project - was a collaborative project involving Rotorua District Council, the Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust, the Rotorua Safer Community Council, Work and Income/Community Employment Group and Toi Te Ora Public Health (the public health arm of Pacific Health). The project involved 32 focus groups of young people followed by a written survey of almost 2,700 young people. Outcomes included a series of reports and a short video. The Rotorua Youth Consultation resulted in a wide range of new initiatives for Rotorua young people. Amongst other things, the information contributed to the development of a School for Young Parents, a Youth Projects Trust to assist young people to run their own events, and formed the basis for Rotorua District Council's Youth Policy.
